Free visas and temporary residence valid for  a period of six months are granted in the frontier departments and offices according to the following:

A- For the Arab investors, Businessmen and their family members citizens of the Arab countries who are visiting Lebanon for the first time for the purpose of investment and that after presenting a statement or testimony from the appropriate authorities proving their professional occupation in addition to a recommendation letter from these departments in order to grant such visas.

B- For the Arab investors, Businessmen and their family members, citizens of the Arab countries who possess a letter from the Institution of Encouraging the Investments in Lebanon that indicates the approval of granting such entrance visa and residence.

C- For the Arab investors, Businessmen, Traders and their family members, citizens of the Arab countries pursuant to an invitation from the Lebanese Business man according to the following:

- The inviting applicant presents a written request to the General Directorate of the General Security according to the following:

- A written commitment to bring over the concerned party on the applicant's responsibility.

-  A photocopy of the commercial record.

-  A passport's photocopy of the person required to come enclosed with an official authenticated document from the official parties that identify his professional occupation.
 

D- Investors and Businessmen mentioned in articles A, B, C above, possessing a temporary residence for a period of six months and who initiated investment projects in Lebanon, can present a request to the General Directorate of the General Security to obtain a yearly or a permanent residence, valid for three years and able to be renewed.
 

E- For the citizens of the countries that are not allowed to have visas at the airport, and who are among the following categories and conditions:

- Bankers, Directors/General Managers and Employers after presenting a document that proves their functions.

- The Lebanese rooted individuals after presenting a proofing document.
- The touristic delegations whose members are not less than eight persons and that in accordance with a request presented by an authorized tourist company in Lebanon along with a departure commitment by that company.

- The patients coming for hospitalization and medical treatment according to a detailed report from a specialized physician justifying the reason for the medical treatment and hospitalization in Lebanon.
