New Passport > Obtaining a family passport with children  
 

·   The Lebanese passport application form that can be obtained from the JP (*) of registry or residence.

·   A new Lebanese identity card with a photograph as well as an A4 copy of it, or an extract of Civil Registration with a photograph not older than three months and an A4 copy of it.

·   A family extract of civil registration not older than three months along with a copy of it.

·   One recent, colored photograph that is not a copy of a previous photo, showing the face completely on a white background size 3.5 x 4.3 cm, and certified by the JP’s seal and signature and bearing the name of the person, his registry number and address and two individual photographs for every child size 3.3 x 4 cm.

·   The old passport, if available, this old passport will not be considered as a legal document sufficient to accomplish the new passport. All above mentioned conditions will still be required. 

·   The legal fee: 60000 L.L. for one year - 300000 L.L. for five years.

 

As for obtaining a passport for a minor accompanied by one of his parents:

 

For the minor under seven years old, in addition to the documents mentioned above:

-   If the minor is accompanied by his father, the approval and the signature of the mother must be taken obligatory on the application form in the presence of the JP or the General Security personnel in the Regional Center who receives the application and certifies the signature.

-  If the minor is accompanied by his mother, the approval and the signature of the father must be taken obligatory on the application form in the presence of the JP or the General Security personnel in the Regional Center who receives the application and certifies the signature.

 

As for a minor who has completed seven and is still below eighteen years old of age, in addition to the documents mentioned above:

-  The entitled party to give permission for traveling and signing the application are the father, the legal guardian, or the legal procurator holding a explicit procuration entitling him to such procedures or the holder of the custody rights pursuant to a legal document issued by the legal competent authorities in case of decease of the father, or in case of divorce or abandonment and in which traveling permission is explicitly mentioned.

 

General Notes:

 

 

·      In case the person holding the right of signature is abroad, then a traveling permission certified by the Lebanese delegation abroad or by a competent Notary Public in the country where there aren't any Lebanese diplomatic delegations, certified by the local authorities provided that the date of the application arrangement does not exceed the period of three months should be presented.

·      If the parents are divorced or if the right of guardianship or custody is entitled to one of them including the right of observation in the favor of the other party (father or mother), the person who beneficiates from the right of custody or guardianship must obtain a permission for the travel of the minor from the person who has the right of observation and this before giving him the passport.

·      The minor wife or husband does not need to obtain a traveling permission.

* JP: Justice of the peace or commissioner of declarations , it is the judicial officer elected in each district authorized to witness and sign statutory declarations and provide various application forms for official procedures.
