A courtesy residence permit is granted to some Arabic or foreigner citizens free of charge.

  The beneficiaries:

 

In exception of the Palestinian Refugees, a courtesy residence permit (free of charge) valid for three years period and renewable, is granted for every Arabic or foreigner fulfilling the following conditions:

 

1-   The Arabic or the foreigner whose mother is Lebanese.

2-   The Arabic or the foreigner wife of a Lebanese man provided that she is not working.

3-   The Arabic or the foreigner born in Lebanon from non Lebanese parents provided that he is pursuing his studies.

4-   The Arabic or the foreigner of a Lebanese origin holding a second nationality that requires him to obtain a residence permit in Lebanon.

5-   The Diplomat from any nationality who has worked in Lebanon, and desires to live in Lebanon after his retirement.

6-   The holders of the residence cards of the category "Under Consideration".

 

Required Documents: 

-   A passport valid at least for a three years period or a valid Identity card with a return coupon if he is Syrian.

-   Two recent colored photos of size 4x4cm.

-   The residence permit application form filled personally and signed before the General Security personnel at the departments and centers of the General Security.

 

In addition to the documents mentioned above the following conditions shall apply: 

·   As for article 1

-   A birth document or any official document that proves that the mother of the residence applicant is Lebanese.

 

·   As for article 2

-   A marriage document implemented according to the rules.

-   An engagement at the Notary Public that no remunerated job will be executed.

 

·   As for article 3 

-   A birth duly issued or any official document proving that the residence applicant was born in Lebanon.

-   An official statement stating that he/she is pursuing his/her studies in Lebanon.

 

·   As for article 4

-   A birth document issued according to the rules or any official document proving that the residence applicant was born in Lebanon.

-   An Identity card, an extract of the civil registration or any official document proving that the residence applicant is of Lebanese origin.

 

· As for article 5

-   An official statement certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants proving that the residence applicant has had a diplomatic occupation in Lebanon. 

 

· As for article 6

-   The holder of a residence permit from the category "Under Consideration" shall be granted a courtesy residence card (free of charge) for a period of one year if he/she matches one of the following situations:

1- He/She is of a Lebanese mother.

2- She is the wife of a Lebanese man and is not working.

3- He/She is born in Lebanon and is pursuing his/her studies.

 

The required documents

-   A residence permit proving that the concerned individual is registered in the “Under Consideration” category (a valid or an expired one) In case of settlement procedure of belated fees, the same formalities as for the Arab and foreigner nationals shall apply.

-   Two recent colored photos size 4x4cm.

-   The courtesy residence application form filled personally and signed it before the General Security personnel at the departments and centers of the General Security.

 

·   The current effective regulations and laws concerning the Palestinian Refugees remain applicable, and article (1) mentioned above is not applied upon them.

·   The effective terms of granting entrance visas to Lebanon remain applicable, and the courtesy residence permit is granted for the beneficiary people listed in article (1) after they enter the Lebanese territory in accordance with current applied regulations.

·   The applications are presented at all the centers of the General Security.
