41_ The scholastic residence is granted to religion students in  the religious universities

           and institutes that are recognized in Lebanon, from different sects according to the

           following:

    411_ The religion student should present within one month from the date of his entrance to Lebanon to one of the regional districts in the General Directorate of the General Security a request for scholastic residence enclosed with a statement from the institute or the university including the following:

   A -   The academic year at which the registered student is attending, as well as the number of the remaining academic years.

    B – An explicit and clear residence address in Lebanon, on the liability of the university or the institute.

    D -   An explicit / express engagement allowing the General Directorate of the General Security to verify that the student's residence is at the given address, according to the common regulations and when necessary.

    C -   A liability engagement signed by the religion student and  by the university or institute to which he is registered, that he will not perform any non academic  and non scholastic activity and to inform the General Directorate of the General Security about any violation, provided that the engagement should also include the condition of not marrying a Lebanese female throughout the period of his studies and residence in Lebanon.

 D - Specifying the source of the religion student’s sustenance and the procedures of fulfilling the tuition fees.

   412_ Presenting a statement of success of the previous academic year upon applying a renewal request for the academic residence. The student is allowed to repeat the same academic year only once, and in the case of repeated failure, he is informed the duty of leaving Lebanon. 

    413_ The residence permit is granted until the 31 of July of every year and it is not renewable if the studies period is only for one year or if the religion student is in his senior / last academic year. As for the religion students that will continue their studies, they are granted after the date of 31 July a temporary residence permit valid for a period of three months with a return / presumption similar to other universities and institutes' students.

    414_ The family members of the religion student are not granted an entrance visa or a residence permit similarly to him unless in some exceptional situations such as illness (entering a hospital), and after the General Directorate of the General Security verifies that. 

    415_ If the married couple were religion students, they are not allowed to bring over their children to stay with them in Lebanon. 

    416_ The inviting party of the clergyman, volunteer or the preacher has to fulfill the previously mentioned articles: 411-414-415, in what concerns the request of obtaining a residence. 

What is meant by the inviting party: The presidencies of the Lebanese confessions, and the religious and charitable institutions authorized by law.
